1 1/4 cups butter 2 cups sugar
2 eggs 2 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour 1/2 cup cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt

cream butter and sugar in large mixing bowl. add eggs and vanilla; blend well. combine flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt; blend into creamed mixture. drop onto greased cookie sheet. bake at 350 for 8-9 minutes-don't overbake. they will be soft. frost and stick together.
